Lea Stenerson came to Boulder from beautiful Portland, Oregon to pursue her graduate degree in exercise physiology. After becoming a mother, the importance of maintaining fitness during pregnancy and post-partum became abundantly clear. It also became clear how difficult this can be, thus Mama Mojo Fitness was born.
Lea is truly well-rounded as a fitness professional with substantial experience in both the clinical & applied setting and with an extensive background in teaching and coaching. An athlete as well, Lea has competed in many sports including swimming, triathlon, distance running, skiing, gymnastics, water polo, track and field, and as a result she understands what it takes physically, mentally and emotionally to engage in exercise at all levels.
The mother of a lively toddler, she recognizes that there are time constraints in daily life and designs programs that are scientifically sound and effective, yet fun and efficient so they provide a ray of sunshine in even the busiest of schedules.
Lea’s athletic drive, compassionate heart and extensive background make her the ideal trainer for a wide variety of clients including high level athletes, those brand new to exercise and sport, youths, aging athletes, those looking to lose weight, pre- and post-natal, moms of all ages, and those rehabilitating an injury. Lea has consistently shown the ability to meet people wherever they are in their fitness path and help them get to where they want to be, while understanding and empathizing with the wide range of challenges that people face at all levels.
Complementing her personal training business, Lea has years of experience as a running, swimming and triathlon coach, sharing an infectious enthusiasm with both her group and one-on-one clients. Additionally, she has nearly a decade of experience working as an exercise test technician/physiologist and skillfully uses the data to further her clients’ progress.

JoAnn Zelasko’s passion is training “first time” triathletes to get to the start and the finish lines. She has been working with women triathletes for 5 years and has completed 11 sprint triathlons. She also has done many 5K, 10K and half-marathon events. She loves to ski and golf, and does both with great enthusiasm. When she is not working with women athletes, she is an Assistant Dean in the College of Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
JoAnn approaches triathlon training from the three prong approach of physical, organizational, and emotional readiness. She works with each athlete to help her with her individual needs, be it open water swimming confidence, changing a bike tire, or nutrition as a triathlete.
